We have previously talked about how amazing the historic Griesbach is in our entry “Griesbach’s historical charm and housing options<\/a>.” We wanted to give another shout out to this fantastic community, which has been named “best place in Edmonton to live”<\/a>!<\/p>\n

How did this new neighbourhood gain that name?<\/h3>\n

This neighbourhood is not only “the best place in Edmonton to live,” but it was also voted Alberta’s best community in 2019.<\/a> Let’s go through some of its features to understand why it has gained such high accolades!<\/p>\n

Masterplanned neighbourhood<\/h4>\n

Although the community sits on what is the historic Griesbach fort (which we explored in our previous entry), the area’s development is still going! The growth happening under Canada Lands aims to be environmentally sustainable, with some of the best architecture in the city.<\/p>\n

Green Spaces & Lakes<\/h4>\n

This is a green community! Not only because they are aiming to make this area sustainable, but they are also trying to make it full of natural amenities. The neighbourhood will have a total of 4 lakes once development is finished. Tight at the centre of the community is Central Park, where residents can enjoy outdoor activities and nature. There are also plans to develop at least three more parks.<\/p>\n

Excellent transit and downtown access<\/h4>\n

The area is extremely close to downtown Edmonton, making it perfect for those that would like to live near the city core!. It also has transportation to 97th street, 137th Avenue, Anthony Henday and Yellowhead Trail. There are also plans to have three LRT stops.<\/p>\n
